On My Bookshelf

Today's book is a catalog of paper works by the famed architect turned designer--Irving Harper. The first part of the book is a treatise on the artist himself. The book is a catalog of the paper work that is found in his home that has been found during a series of interviews.

The art pieces were starting to turn into disarray through sun damage and neglect. The artist took up paper arts as a response to the boredom that he found when working on other projects. The art pieces were never designed to be presented to the public. Rather than take up knitting or crochet, he decided to take up one of his favorite pastimes of making models and art pieces out of paper. The son of a bookbinder, he was always around paper when sitting in his father's studio.

The art pieces are amazing and this book is a must for anyone interested in paper arts. This is simply a catalog of his work. There are no instructions or explanations of the work found in the book. If you want to simply pine away for hours at a time, get this book.
