365 Day 2016 Project--Week 4

Week Four--In the Books.

I like this one. The idea was to create confusion with the arrows so that the quote would have a little more meaning.

This one I did at the theater with Sharpie Fine Point markers.
January 19
 I like this font.

This one brought back some memories from my childhood. I remember my teacher chastising me because I colored the grass blue rather than green. She taught me that there really was a way to correct color in my coloring book.
January 21
I like the sun on this page.
January 22
I like the plaid on this page. I started to use the block side of the Copic markers to obtain the thick lines
January 23
Another creation from the theater. The funny thing about this page is that I had to do it twice. On the first attempt, I forgot the first "c" in the word practice. I ended up cutting an extra page and taping it over the original page.

Iron Craft 2016 Challenge #1--Pamphlet Stitch Book

Happy New Year. For the first challenge of 2016, we were asked to create something for the Fifth Anniversary of the Iron Craft Challenges--daisy, wood, or silverware. I have to admit that I was a little perplexed by the challenge.

Originally, I was going to dedicate one of my 365 Day Challenge quotes to the theme (see above). After finishing the page, I felt that it was probably a little cheating (self-imposed definition) so I decided to create a separate project.

After the end of each month of my 365 Day Challenge, I will bind the pages into a pamphlet stitch book. Therefore, I decided to mock up a prototype book for the Iron Craft Challenge. I used some marbled paper that I had on hand and black book cloth for the spine.

Yet, I needed something to apply to the theme. I found this beautiful paper with a wood grain stain on it. The perfect compliment to the marbled paper and the solution to the theme of the Iron Craft Challenge.

I am very happy with the way that this turned out.

365 Day 2016 Project--Week 3

Week Three has come and gone and here are the quotes for the week. For this week, I particularly like the page for January 12. I like the font and shape of the word SMILE. I am also fond of the butterfly on the January 14th day.

I also decided to dedicate two days to what I will be referring to as "Obituary Quotes." These are pages dedicated to people who have died recently. This week it was David Bowie and Alan Rickman.

New Rules for 365 Day 2016 Project

January 2, 2016

So for this year's 365 Project, I decided to post a summary post every Sunday of the week's daily quotes. The purpose is to remove some of the overwhelming time out of the process of posting daily. While I still hope to be creating a quote a day (and share it to Facebook), each Sunday (my day off from all of my jobs) I will post the seven quotes from the current week.

After realizing--it's my blog, I can do whatever I please--I decided to shake off some of the guilt associated with not blogging every day.

Day 1

January 1, 2016

For 2016, I decided to do another 365 Day Project. I will be illustrating quotes that I find meaningful or inspiration.

So, as the New Year begins, I want to take a minute to just Breathe. Believe it or not, sometimes I need to remind myself of this simple fact.

Happy 2016
